May 2nd Special Election Scheduled

A Special Election will be held on Tuesday May 2, 2017. All Fenton Township voters will have the opportunity to cast their ballots on a county-wide proposal to increase the 9-1-1 surcharge on all phone numbers, (see complete ballot proposal language below).

Please remember that all voters living in Fenton Township vote at Lake Fenton High School, (4070 Lahring Road). This election will be conducted in the band room, which is located in the south wing of the school. Voters may enter the high school parking lot from either the Jennings Road or Lahring Road entrance and should enter the building at the south wing entrance. Signs will be posted to help direct voters to the proper stations.

Voters that expect to be absent from the community on Election Day, as well as voters that are 60 or older and voters with disabilities, may vote by absentee ballot. An absentee ballot application may be requested in person, by mail or by telephone. Absentee ballots are expected to be available at the Fenton Township office on or around March 17, 2017. Absentee ballots may be issued as late as Monday May 1, 2017 by 4:00 p.m. All ballots must be returned to Fenton Township no later than 8:00 p.m. on Election Day. Additionally, the Fenton Township Office will be open Saturday April 29, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for voters to receive an absentee ballot.

Shall the County of Genesee, Michigan, be authorized to assess a charge on all landline, wireless, and voice over the internet protocol service users located within Genesee County of up to $1.86 per month, for a period ending December 31, 2021, to be distributed exclusively for funding of 9-1-1 emergency call answering and dispatch services within Genesee County including facilities, equipment, maintenance and operating costs?
