The law provided that beginning September 15th, 1% interest be paid on delinquent taxes. However, these may be deferred without interest until February 15th for any taxpayer who is a senior citizen 62 years of age, totally and permanently disabled, or otherwise eligible whose household income does not exceed $ 40,000.00 per year. Applications for deferment are available at the Fenton Township office and must be returned by September 14th to qualify for that tax year. This process must be repeated each year.
